Apple's iPhone is often famed for the fact that it has so many 'apps' from which almost any information can be found. It is hardly surprising then that there are applications for such important issues as pet health care. The many hundreds of pet owners who prefer to access internet information on their phone to on their computer will welcome the news because the many apps offer a massive variety of information, all at users' fingertips.

All of the applications were created to be user friendly for the average pet owner who just wants quick to find and easy to access information on pet health care. The Pet First Aid app offers very handy snippets of easy to understand information and advice on pet health care. There is also information and instructions on the best way to carry out physical checks on your animal so you can try to figure out what the problem might be. A very useful 'what's normal' section allows you the owner to check a symptom or behaviour to see if it is cause for concern.

The mobile symptom checker also works in a similar manner to the first aid application. It works in a comparable way to its human equivalent, the NHS direct website, allowing users to search symptoms by category.

To help pet owners to keep up to date with their animal's pet health care records there is a Vet Records app. You can input medical information and track medical treatment. Obviously, the vet should keep a record of this information anyway, but the app could be especially useful if the animal has to receive emergency treatment from a vet other than their own, such as if they feel ill on holiday.

Anyone into pet health care will adore the Pet Services finder app.It is a cross between Google and the Yellow Pages and allows pet owners to find any animal service from vets to dog walkers to catteries in the local area.

Some of the other good apps are the off the leash application which will give you details about many interesting dog walks in your vicinity and the vet dictionary which will help you put pet health care jargon into plain and simple English.

Overall, you can see the difference technology is making to pet health care through the accessibility and simplicity of the iphone apps.
